Sugam contains a great OpenType font 'Akhil HE' for rendering DevaNagari-Latin text. It also contains a program/keyboard driver 'iNagari' to support the following keyboard layout.

iNagari-TransLit

A New Keyboard Layout for DevaNagari!

'iNagari' is the name of a DevaNagari Keyboard layout that we have developed. Previously we use to call this layout 'TransLit'.

With little practice you can start using it efficiently. It combines the best of both the world; simplicity of 'Phonetic' and efficiency of 'Inscript'. Inscript is the standard professed by Buruea of Indian Standards.

[How to type Devanagari using iNagari]

Color-coded iNagari (TransLit)

Refer to the following colorful picture of iNagari-TransLit. The keys which you need not remember (those which directly correspond to Roman keys) are printed with pale yellow color. Other keys which one should remember are colored with other colors. All the keys representing DevaNagari-vowels (swaras) are colored with light-violet.

iNagari-98 is the program that we have written to support this layout in Windows-98. This program works in the background, i.e. you just need to start it and then minimize it (or leave it behind other Windows!). When you turn the [Caps Lock] key ON, It starts reading the (English) keys typed and starts generating DevaNagari characters. Turn OFF the [Caps Lock] key after finishing inserting DevaNagari text to get English alphabet. iNagari is a part of our software package - 'Sugam-98'.

For Windows XP (and Windows 2000 etc.) we have 'iNagari-2K', which is a part of our software package - 'Sugam-2K'.

Click following button to buy Sugam-98 or Sugam-2K.

The 'Sugam-XX' packages also contains many high quality color coded keyboard layout pictures to be used as wall-paper. Isn't it really a great idea to use keyboard layout pictures as wall-paper. Isn't it cool to color code layout depending upon whether a character is a vowel or mark.
